Karst Plateau Trail

After breakfast, you again transfer to the horses and set out on the trail, following a path which goes under a natural wall and through a tunnel carved in the rock. Upon reaching Silentabor you'll have spectacular views of the wildness around you. Your next stop is the village of Narin where you have time to rest and enjoy lunch in a pub.

After lunch, continue riding on the hillsides of Primoz where you will be able to look at the remains of the tunnels from World War I. The path leads through woods and onto floodplains of the river Pivka, before reaching Trnje again. You can settle your horses here and have dinner before returning to your B&B to overnight.

Riding: 7 hours.

Following breakfast, you will embark on a half-day excursion to Petelinjsko Jezero lake. The route will guide you through pristine natural surroundings and a small village where locals may offer you a taste of their authentic homemade sheep's milk cheese. Return to Trnje for lunch and to change attire for the afternoon sightseeing activity. You have the option to visit either Postonjska Jama, a cave park, or Predjamski Grad, a stunning medieval castle built within a cave. Please note that entrance fees for either activity are not included. Following sightseeing, you may choose to dine out before returning to Trnje for overnight accommodations.

Riding time: 4 hours.

Today, you will embark on a horseback riding adventure that will take you to Palsko Jezero lake. The journey will take you through lush forests, with several stops along the way to admire the scenery. It will be a half-day excursion. After lunch you will head to Lipica Stud to see the Lipizzaner horses and choose from various activities such as a ride in the horse-drawn carriage, visit to the Lipizzaner Museum, a tour of the stables or relaxing in the beautifully maintained grounds.. Additional costs for activities are payable locally. You will then return to Trnje for dinner and overnight accommodations.

Riding time: 4 hours.

Today's itinerary involves a full day of horseback riding. You will start your journey in Trnje and ride towards the floodplains of the Pvka river. Along the way, you will pass by an old mill and the ruins of castle Kalec. You can take a break under the shade of some large lime trees before continuing on forest paths to reach the village of Bac, where lunch will be served. In the afternoon, you will continue riding towards Sembije and follow an uphill forest route to reach Mala Milonja. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. You will leave the horses at Mala Milonja and have dinner nearby before returning to Trnje for overnight accommodations.

Riding time: 7 hours.

On a day without horseback riding, you will visit Piran, an ancient harbor town that boasts a preserved medieval wall and is recognized as a cultural and historical landmark. Its narrow streets and compact houses cascade down the hill to the church and central square, embodying the Mediterranean ambiance. As it was shaped by the influence of Venice, the town is renowned for its authenticity and picturesque views on the Adriatic coast. You will have the freedom to choose from various cafes and restaurants for lunch.

No riding.

This day will involve driving to Sembije to meet and saddle the horses and riding to Milojna. A special lunch of wild boar goulash will be served at a cottage near WWI tunnels. We will ride back to Sembije for an early dinner.

Ride time: 5 hours.

After breakfast you are transferred to the airport for your flight home or onwards travel.
