Visitors can enjoy whale watching, hiking, exploring the charming sailors' town of Horta or simply relaxing on the island's black beaches. Experience a three-day ride along the Faial Island Trail and be captivated by the stunning scenery, from riding among hydrangea hedges to traversing unique volcanic landscapes.

Explore enchanting forests and visit picturesque villages near the Atlantic ocean, where natural lava-rock pools offer a refreshing swim. Then, spend three more days enjoying activities such as whale and dolphin watching, guided hikes through jungle-like areas with Nature Park Guides or a visit to the neighboring island of Pico.

Since the beginning in the team, I am the man who manages all topics around the horses, guides and riders. Whenever possible I guide our guest on trails. Our Ecolodge on Faial Island is the Azores Horse-Lovers Paradise. The place where Trail-Riders, Nature and Island-Enthusiasts from all over the world are coming together. Our Ecolodge is the home of our Lusitano and Cruzado Portuguese Horses. They are living the whole year outside on evergreen meadows. This is the place to enjoy country and island life. From the Ecolodge you have an endless view over the Atlantic Ocean, to gently sloping hills and to the 2,350 m high volcano of Pico. Quite close you see the neighbor islands of São Jorge and Graciosa. We provide 365 days of endless Island Horse Adventures.

Arrival on Faial Island (Horta Airport - Code: HOR), transfer to our Ecolodge and first contact with the horses, briefing of the trail week. Get to know the group and the guide. Allocation of horses. Welcome dinner.

Our Ecolodge features a tranquil surroundings with beautiful views of blue Atlantic Ocean, green meadows and islands of São Jorge, Graciosaand Pico. Combines the comfort of a 4-star Boutique Nature Lodge with an equine, or any other outdoor activities for romantic gateways or family vacations. Friendly staff helps to organize horseback riding on one of well-trained horses led by excellent and enthusiastic guides or any other excursions.

We offer 7 specious apartments and 4 cozy lodge rooms, onsite restaurants, swimming pool and sauna.

If you enjoy horses, dogs and ppl who appreciate the outdoors and the simple things in life. Then this patio is the perfect place for you, friendly staff, beautiful private location and convenient access to everything that makes Faial special make it a great choice... this is not a place for demanding travelers with 1st world problems, but rather a cozy home away from home.

We stayed at this patio for 12 days in December. The location and accommodations were excellent! The beautifully decorated luxury tiny houses made our stay very comfortable. Victor and Angélique warmly welcomed us. The place offers a variety of activities like horseback rides and guided hikes. Whether you prefer an active or relaxing holiday, they have something for everyone (including an indoor pool). The staff is friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this place! I had a fantastic time at this patio. The accommodations were lovely, the staff was friendly, and the food was delicious. The highlight of my stay was the unforgettable day horse trail. They tailored the experience to my riding ability and horse preferences, allowing for plenty of cantering in diverse landscapes with stunning views,... . And the horses were well cared for. I am already thinking about returning in the summer to see the blue hydrangeas in bloom.
