Upon arrival at Leknes or Svolvaer airport, our warm welcome precedes a delightful dinner at Låven Restaurant. The weekend kicks off with a 2-hour ride, creating an immediate connection with our horses and guides. We will have a ride through Vestvågøy and Aalan Cheese Farm as well as a full-day tour of Gimsøy, weaving through the Vikingvei and culminating in traditional lunch.

Route details

We pick you up at Leknes or Svolvaer airport and drive to Hov to check in at the Lofoten Links Lodges. After that delicious welcome dinner will be enjoyed in our Låven Restaurant.

After dinner we’ll meet the horses and go for our first ride together: Northern lights tour. This is an easy ride (about 2 hours) to become familiar with the guides and horses. Hopefully, we will get to see the northern lights!

During our visit to the Lofoten Islands, we embarked on a Viking trek adventure. While some of us hadn't ridden for a few years, the younger members of our group were quite experienced. Our trek leader was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the Icelandic ponies we rode. Icelandic ponies proved to be exceptionally sure-footed, and it was fascinating to learn about their unique gait, the tolt. We all thoroughly enjoyed our ride. Fortunately, the weather cooperated, but the riding center offers suitable waterproof clothing if needed. We highly recommend visiting this place, with a special mention to the restaurant which served amazing food. Thank you from the Scottish girls for a memorable experience.

The view from the camping site was absolutely breathtaking, and the beach was simply picturesque! We highly recommend booking the sauna in advance. Despite the rainy weather we encountered, the location more than made up for it.
