This exclusive horseback riding tour is designed to allow participants to join local Mongolian rangers in studying the habitats of endangered argali and ibex species at Horidal Saridag, one of Mongolia's most remote and beautiful mountains. The expedition will be led by Mr. Tumursukh, the director of Horidal Saridag Strictly Protected Area, who has extensive knowledge of the area and its ecosystem. Participants will have the opportunity to explore exclusive horse trekking trails used only by local rangers and hunters, providing a unique and thrilling adventure while also contributing to conservation efforts.

The price displayed is for groups of 10 and more people. 6-9 travelers: $3,450 pp, 3-5 travelers: $3,690 pp, 2 travelers: $3,880 pp.

Tumursukh

The director of Horidal Saridag Strictly Protected Area who will take you on the exclusive horse trekking trails used only by local rangers or hunters. Born in the adjacent Darhad valley and started as a local ranger in the park, there’s hardly anyone who knows the lake area and its surrounding ecosystem better than Tumursukh. He is also a licensed wolf-hunter, in the country where wolf hunting is still officially permitted in order to control the population to protect herders’ livestock. This never before granted access to the backdoors of the mountain is an epic journey dedicated for those who like adventure and thrill, while contributing to the cause of promoting these hard working individuals.

Route details

Upon reaching Ulaanbaatar's Chinggis Khan International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and taken to your hotel. After some rest, take a short city tour which includes a stop at Zaisan Hill for a panoramic view of the city. In the evening, dine at a local restaurant for a welcome dinner.
