Khan Khentii and Black Lake Trail

In the upcoming 48 hours, our journey will take us through the Khavirga mountain pass and the Altan Ulgii mountain range, serving as the gateway to the Khan Khentii strictly protected area. This particular section of the route may pose difficulties due to its marshy, boggy and muddy landscape. However, we will also have the delightful opportunity to traverse forested mountain areas and spend our nights camping in tents.

We continue our way to the Khan Khentii area.

Today, we will continue our expedition through breathtaking natural sceneries, which will include traversing rivers and wet meadows. As the day comes to an end, we will reach Khagiin Khar Nuur, a glacial lake that is 20 meters deep. This enchanting lake is surrounded by lush forests filled with larch and pine trees. For the night, we will set up camp in tents under the twinkling stars above us.

Today is a day dedicated to relaxation and leisure. You have the option to engage in activities such as hiking or horseback riding, allowing yourself to unwind and fully appreciate the tranquility of this picturesque setting. We will be staying in tents by the lake for another night.

In the morning, we start our journey back to Terelj National Park. Along the way, we'll make an overnight stop at the splendid Jalman mountain, camping in tents.

We continue riding our way back. Our route takes us through picturesque mountains, muddy trails, lush forests and green grasslands.

We'll ride through the Terelj river valley. Our night will be spent in tents.

Today we'll ride through the Tuul river valley. The Tuul River is one of Mongolia's longest, and we'll have the opportunity for some exciting galloping in open areas. Our night will be again spent in tents.

After indulging in a traditional Mongolian morning meal, you will make preparations to return to our camp via car. On your way back, you will have the opportunity to visit the Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue. By midday, you will reach the camp, bringing an end to your thrilling journey. 

Take the rest of the afternoon to unwind at our camp, where you can relax on the deck of our spacious Ger, sip tea and exchange tales from your trek. 

Say goodbye to your remarkable horses and the devoted crew. You have the option to spend the night at the base camp or arrange transportation back to the capital city. This signifies the conclusion of your unforgettable nomadic adventure.
