Luxury Spa Hacienda Experience

Take a ride towards Hacienda La Estancia by following the old Camino Real, also known as the Royal Highway. Along the trail, there are certain sections where you can enjoy a faster pace called cantering, which lasts for approximately three hours. When you reach the La Puerta del Coche Ranch, a lovely ranch and hotel, you will be greeted with Tequila and cold beer. Take a tour of this recently constructed private ranch, which includes horse stables, a round pen and an arena. After a satisfying lunch, embark on a return ride to our Hacienda during the early evening. The trails are well-maintained for your convenience. Once you arrive at our Hacienda, you can unwind in a hot tub and relax. Finally, have dinner at our restaurant.

Have breakfast in the garden before saddling up the horses and embarking on a ride towards Hacienda San Cayetano. Along the way, you'll pass through a mesquite forest and have the opportunity to canter on the trails while admiring various types of cacti like Nopales and Pirules. This cross-country ride promises plenty of excitement as you navigate uphill and downhill, traverse through a canyon and even encounter cows and bulls. The morning ride lasts approximately 4 hours, followed by a 2-hour break for lunch. 

Upon arrival at the hacienda, hosts Pita and Juan will warmly welcome riders with cold beer or Tequila and snacks. Lunch will be served at the hacienda, where you can savor Pita's delicious food. In the evening, after enjoying a glass of Mexican wine or Tequila, Pita will enlighten the group about equinotherapy, a practice she has dedicated herself to for the past two decades. This insightful session will provide an opportunity to delve deeper into this fascinating topic. 

Additionally, Juan will showcase his expertise in training registered quarter horses and offer an explanation of the Mexican rein to the group.

Enjoy breakfast at the Hacienda before embarking on a journey to Sabindas Ranch, where the horses will be transported in a trailer. Once at Sabindas Ranch, unload the horses and embark on a breathtaking four-hour ride through stunning landscapes filled with mesquite and cactus forests. Explore the vast ranch and meet its owner, Ernesto, who extends a warm welcome to riders. 

Continue riding along well-maintained trails that offer panoramic views of the Sabindas reservoir. Follow the cattle path to the reservoir dam and ride alongside the water. During the rainy season, there may be a need to swim the horses across the dam in order to continue the journey. After allowing the horses to rest and hydrate, ride back to the ranch for a delicious lunch. Following lunch, transfer by car to our Hacienda for a special dinner at our restaurant.

We will take a ride from our Hotel to the Equestrian Centre called "La Herencia" for approximately 2 and a half hours. At this location, we will have the opportunity to witness Eugenio, a renowned horse trainer and horse whisperer, demonstrate his expertise in Natural Horsemanship. Additionally, we can ride in the arena, participate in team penning, learn roping techniques and improve our riding skills in the arena. 

Moreover, we can delve deeper into the world of horses and explore the Mexican style of riding, including horseback jumping with various obstacles. During our visit, we will enjoy a traditional Ranchero meal, accompanied by a refreshing cold beer. 

After lunch, we will be driven to the downtown area of Lagos de Moreno, a picturesque colonial town that is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, we will embark on a city tour to discover the charming buildings, churches, theater, museums and more. For dinner, we will dine at a local restaurant in Lagos de Moreno, immersing ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the town and experiencing the lives of its residents. Finally, we will be transferred by car to our Hacienda.

Having breakfast in the garden, we will embark on a horseback ride towards Hacienda San Cayetano. Along the way, we will pass through a mesquite forest and have the opportunity to canter on the trails while admiring the beautiful landscapes adorned with various species of Cactus, Nopales and Pirules.

Today's ride will take us to another area of this expansive Ranch, specifically towards el Potrero de la Angostura, where a lovely waterfall awaits during the rainy season. As we continue our journey, we will enter the potrero where the mares reside. This section of the ranch is abundant with Palma del Desierto, Desert Palms, making it a perfect setting for an enjoyable cross-country ride. 

We will eventually return to the Hacienda after four hours of riding. If you're fortunate, you may witness the exciting cattle drives and branding activities that occasionally take place on this ranch. If timing aligns, you might even have the opportunity to participate alongside the vaqueros in roping the cattle.

For lunch, we will indulge in a traditional vaqueros meal called Discada, prepared on an iron disc over a wood fire. This delicious dish consists of beef, pork, chicken, bacon, onions, peppers, pineapple and more. After lunch, we will mount our horses once again and continue our ride towards our Hacienda for approximately one and a half hours. A Mexican dinner will be served in our restaurant.

Begin your journey near the Lagos river on pleasant paths that offer both comfort and the opportunity to ride at a canter. Explore the Hacienda Sanfandila, which houses an Equestrian Centre where you can receive a lesson in Natural Horsemanship and gain valuable insights on improving your riding skills.

Indulge in a delicious homemade lunch before embarking on a tour of their workshop, where you can witness the creation of exquisite handmade Chaps, Belts, covers and saddles. This traditional craftsmanship is becoming increasingly rare, making this tour all the more exceptional as you have the chance to meet the talented artist responsible. Conclude your day by riding back to our Hacienda, with the option to enjoy a canter during the early evening ride lasting 2.5 hours.

Today, we will embark on a delightful three-hour journey to the stunning Hacienda Tlalixcoyan. The initial part of our route will take us through vast alfalfa fields, which serve as the main ingredient for the popular Mexican beverage known as agua de alfalfa and are also utilized as high-quality cattle feed. As we continue along the path, we will encounter the ancient Camino Real adorned with its charming little bridges, followed by a scenic ride alongside the Lagos River. This stretch offers ample shade and an opportunity for a lively canter. 

Along the way, we will pass by the abandoned hacienda called "Cieneguilla," where one might occasionally witness cows grazing in the living room – a picturesque sight perfect for capturing memories. After three hours of riding, we will arrive at the Hacienda, where we will be warmly greeted by Pablo, the owner, who will join us on his horse while presenting a bottle of tequila. 

Before reaching the hacienda, we will enjoy a tequila shot on horseback, followed by a delectable Mexican meal awaiting us upon arrival. Following lunch, we will explore the Hacienda through a guided tour before mounting the horses once more for our return journey to our Hacienda, tracing our steps along the Lagos River and the old Camino Real. We will bid farewell to our trusty steeds before indulging in relaxation at the sauna or steam room, or perhaps treating ourselves to a holistic massage at the SPA.
