Experience the authentic essence of traditional Mexico in the state of Jalisco, specifically in the Lagos de Moreno region. This area is known for its rich cultural, historical and natural heritage, earning it the title of a magical town.

During this tour, you will have the opportunity to explore two haciendas and ride along sections of the old Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, also called the Silver Route. This ancient trade route, spanning over 2,500 kilometers, connected Mexico City with San Juan Pueblo, New Mexico, from the late 16th century to the late 19th century. As you traverse sandy trails, hills and mountains, you will witness breathtaking landscapes and encounter alfalfa and corn crops.

Route details

Upon arrival at our Hacienda Hotel, we will embark on a tour of the Hacienda. Following that, we will have the opportunity to choose our horses and saddles.

We will then embark on a short ride around the Hacienda to familiarize ourselves with the horses before continuing our journey to Rancho El Monte.

Along the way, we will pass through the historic curtain of the Alfonso dam and traverse the picturesque pasture known as Savana Africana.

On our return to our Hacienda, we will pass through the enchanting Mezquites forest. The horseback riding experience will last approximately 2 hours.

Afterward, we will have some free time. In the evening, we can enjoy a cold beer or a house tequila at our Bar. Finally, we will indulge in a delicious typical dinner at the Hacienda Restaurant.

This horseback riding experience is perfect for riders who are at an intermediate level or higher. However, beginners and those with less experience can also participate if they are given advance notice. We offer lessons in the riding arena, and our rides can be customized to accommodate novice riders by allowing them to ride on their own designated trails while being transported by vehicle to a hacienda or lunch spot.

Horses: Quarter horses, Aztec and Mexican Criollo.

Tack: mainly Mexican + 2 Western and 2 English saddles.

The hacienda has a total of 15 suites, with 6 junior suites and 9 large suites. Each suite is beautifully decorated with unique details like antique furniture, hand-painted tiles, exquisite fabrics and hand-woven rugs. All rooms have their own bathrooms, and 3 of them even have jacuzzi baths. Some rooms have terraces that overlook the gardens, while others have windows with views of the swimming pool and courtyard. Every bedroom is equipped with satellite TV and internet access.

The resort offers various amenities, including an outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and spa where guests can book different types of treatments. There is also a restaurant serving delicious Mexican cuisine and a cozy bar that offers a wide range of drinks and snacks. For entertainment, there is a movie room available for guests to enjoy films, as well as a variety of games. Additionally, the hacienda provides modern conference equipment in its meeting rooms.

Cabalgamos y exploramos la encantadora Hacienda y su entorno natural. Después, visitamos un lujoso hotel con piscina, spa, animales hermosos y entretenimiento, donde disfrutamos de un delicioso almuerzo. Juan Alfonso nos atendió de manera excepcional. Recomiendo encarecidamente esta experiencia.

Une expérience équestre incroyable dans le véritable Mexique, avec ses vastes étendues désertiques de cactus et ses plantations d'agaves, explorée à dos de magnifiques quartiers chevaux bien entraînés et sûrs. Nous avons traversé ces paysages en visitant de charmantes haciendas, certaines très anciennes. Nous avons bénéficié d'un accompagnement exceptionnel qui nous a donné un sentiment de sécurité tout au long du séjour et nous a permis de rencontrer les habitants locaux, dont l'accueil restera inoubliable! Je recommande vivement Juan Alfonso à tous ceux qui souhaitent vivre une expérience équestre authentique et dépaysante.
