Memorable Places and Fun in Sicily

Horse-riding after breakfast, followed by a light snack enabling us to depart early after lunch.

We arrive at a small private club by the lake, where we can swim and make use of several facilities such as canoeing, pedalos. Water skiing is available (skiing is not included in package).

Later on we visit a renowned horse training establishment where we can see fabulous horses in training.

We tour a medieval castle, and afterwards, have dinner here. Lastly drinks in a very picturesque local garden pub.

After breakfast we ride out for our usual morning ride and lunch on the terrace. 

After a post-lunch break we, we pack a small bag and head off to Palermo, Sicily’s capital. We dine out and enjoy the bustling caffes and bars, gelaterias and restaurants and nightlife of the city that really never sleeps. 

We stay the night at our B&B right in the beautiful historic centre.

This day we tour Palermo. 

It is impossible to see even a good part of what this incredible city has to offer. We will generally select a couple of places to visit depending mostly on what is available on the day and your tastes. 

We lunch in a truly quaint tavern in the forgotten part of the historic centre. 

After more excursions in the afternoon we head back to the ranch for a home cooked dinner.

Morning ride followed be the light lunch.

Early afternoon set off to a true remote mountain village made famous on the film the “Godfather”. Yes, I refer to Corleone, the very real Mafia town that the famous film was based on. Here we hear the full story of the rise of the Sicilian mafia and how it affects life in Sicily today. After that we take a short walk around the town.

In the evening we drive back, stopping half way in another very special mountain town for a pizza meal in the only local pizzeria in the village.

We set off after breakfast to a friends country house (approx 3 hours). 

There we have a lovely home cooked 4 course lunch. Extreme relaxation at the countryhouse! 

After a good rest from the copious food and drink we ride back to the ranch. In the evening we have a light home dinner. 

If anyone still has the energy we can have some drinks at home or in the local bar.

Depending on the time of the year we might go to either a lovely beach resort or a visit to the “Valley of the Temples”. Both are incredibly beautiful places. And both are situated next to historic towns, splendid in their beauty, architecture and nightlife too. 

Dinner in a restaurant.

Itinerary will depend on departure flight time and is decided the evening before. 

Generally, we leave after breakfast.
