Competing from an early age, I took a break from competition during college years but my love for horses drew me back to invest in my first of six foundation that went on to breed many top class Connemara performance ponies over the past 15 years. With a strong belief that the Connemara pony is one that can be enjoyed by both children and adults, I now breed a larger type of Connemara pony to allow this versatility.

Route details

Day 1
Galway to Curra Farm

Picking up from The Park House Hotel in Galway City at 11am, we will on Cáit’s luxury Mercedes coach to Moycullen, a village at the mouth of the Connemara region where we stop at local markets on the way. We will arrive at Curra Farm, our homestead and your home from home, for the next 4 nights! Before your riding adventure begins, you’ll have an opportunity to settle in, relax in your room, or take a walk around the farm to meet our herd of Connemara ponies, which we breed right here on the farm. Once you’ve settled in and enjoyed a wholesome, home-cooked Irish lunch, it’s time for a quick arena session with our instructor where we  familiarize you with both our tack and the English style of riding before being paired up with the Connemara Pony that will be your buddy for the duration of your trip.

Julie Goodnight and T Cody will take over with an introductory clinic. Our chef will be busy cooking a traditional Irish meal in the comfort of your home away from home. Afterward, relax on our boat-shaped deck or enjoy a glass of bubbly on the outdoor boat deck, taking in the blissful sound of the lakeside silence.

Your search for the ultimate dream vacation ends here - you're staring right at it. Without a doubt, this has been the most incredible experience of my life! Exploring Ireland on this tour is hands down the best way to do it. I found myself overcome with tears of joy multiple times as I beheld the breathtaking countryside from atop Henry's back - who, by the way, was an absolute gem, especially for someone like me with limited riding experience. From Cait's exceptional team to the remarkable horses, every aspect of this experience surpassed all expectations. If you're seeking to truly immerse yourself in Ireland, venturing beyond the tourist hotspots and pubs (though those were certainly enjoyable too!), then this is the definitive way to go about it. I'll forever cherish the memories of this wonderfully enriching experience and I assure you, you won't regret embarking on this journey.

My time spent with Cáit was truly incredible. Cáit is an exceptional individual with a delightful sense of humor, and she takes immense pride in ensuring her guests' happiness. Not only did she graciously guide us through the stunning landscapes on her charming ponies, but she also enriched our journey with insights into the area's rich history. From exploring castles and visiting a sheep farm to immersing ourselves in traditional music at a local shop and attending the Dublin Horse Show, every moment was unforgettable. Cáit and her team, including Brian, Sabdh, and Aoifa, exhibit remarkable care and kindness towards their horses. They possess an intimate understanding of each horse's personality quirks, preferences, and needs, ensuring they are well-cared for in every aspect. I wholeheartedly recommend booking a trip with Cáit - it's an experience you'll treasure forever!

From the moment we set foot on the Farm, we sensed the promise of an extraordinary experience. Cait and her highly skilled, amiable team lived up to every expectation. Their dedication to their ponies is evident; each one exuded vitality and readiness to accompany a guest. The atmosphere was one of jubilance and vitality, fostering a happy and thriving environment. Off the saddle, Cait and her trusty companions lead captivating journeys into Irish culture, enriching our understanding of the land. For those considering the 2024 tour, we suggest arriving in Galway in time for a day at the renowned Galway Races (Galway Race Week). Moreover, allocate an extra day in Dublin for a walking tour of the city and, if possible, attend the exhilarating Dublin Horse Show on Friday evening. Our vacation surpassed all expectations!
