Facundo arrived in the Lençóis Maranhenses on a trip with friends in 2013 and never left. He was enchanted by the infinitely pure nature of this place, healthy lifestyle, and open-minded friendships, and decided to stay for a while. After almost a year of contemplation and exploration, his walk in the Atins region, motivated also by the work of some friends, led him to start guiding small groups on walks. He created the name of his current project on social media to promote his work. Already decided to settle in Atins, he acquired the first horses and rented others for riding. It was a difficult path, but perseverance, passion for animals and nature helped to make the project a reality. Year after year, exhaustively exploring the dunes and lagoons of the desert, understanding the changes in geography and the exuberant and distinctive natural forms of the Lençóis Maranhenses, he draws the best routes to visit this special place at any time of the year.

Route details
Day 1
Rio Negro
7:30am - Our 4x4 vehicle will be waiting for you at the inn. Travel 20 km until you meet the horses at the mouth of the Rio Negro.
9am - The ride begins, surrounded by crystal-clear white sand dunes. Dive into the first giant lagoons and admire nature.
Noon - Have lunch with traditional free-range chicken in coconut milk at Dona Dete and Senhor Moacir's house, in the first oasis. Rest in hammocks before afternoon.
3pm - Follow the ride towards the second oasis, crossing the Rio Negro (it can be difficult at some times of the year). Admire the sunset over the dunes.
Evening - Arrive at Dona Joana and Senhor Raimundo's house for dinner. Rest in cozy rooms overlooking the Queimada dos Brito oasis.
